What we build

Quiet systems that handle real work

Four things show up in most engagements. Mix and match.

AI agents

Custom-built AI that does one job well. Drafts follow-up emails, summarises call notes, classifies inbound enquiries, routes maintenance requests. Not a chatbot. A specific tool for a specific job.

Workflow automation

The stuff that should be automatic, isn't yet. Quote requests, onboarding, reporting, handoffs between tools. Built on what you already use.

Custom builds

When off-the-shelf doesn't fit. Lightweight web apps, internal tools, integrations between the things you already pay for. Built with Claude, React, Vercel, Supabase.

CRM and systems

HubSpot, Airtable, or something custom. Set up properly, integrated with everything else, actually used by the team.

How we work

Three steps. No mystery.

1

Discovery

A real conversation about what's slow, what's broken, and what's worth fixing first. We look at your tools, your workflows, and where the time goes. Half a day to a full day depending on the business.

2

Build

Scoped project or ongoing retainer. We build the thing, test it with you, and put it in front of the team. Always with a human-in-the-loop checkpoint. Nothing ships "set and forget."

3

Embed

Documentation, team training, and a follow-up window so it doesn't fall over the first time something weird happens. Then we either step back or stay on as your ongoing AI/ops partner.

Ongoing support

Stay on as your AI and ops partner

Most clients keep us on after the build. AI tools shift fast, workflows change, and someone needs to keep an eye on it without you having to think about it. Three tiers. Goal-led. Quarterly review baked in.

Who you're working with

Sammy Rae

Director of Stuff and Things. Based in Wanaka. Ten years across SaaS, AI and consulting. HubSpot Solutions Partner. Australian living in New Zealand. Also building Volt26, a solo founder agentic operating system.

I started Stuff and Things because most AI consulting is either too expensive to be sensible or too vague to be useful. This is the boring middle - real builds, named outcomes, practical tools that work the way you actually work. If that's the kind of help you're after, get in touch.
